Jose Bordalas has urged Getafe management to work quickly to fill gaps in the squad before the summer window closes.

Jose Bordalas, the 60-year-old coach, has admitt that Getafe could be relegate if club president Angel Torres and Azulon sporting director Ruben Reyes do not quickly solve their problems while the team only has 17 first-team players, Ufabet reported on Friday.

Getafe began the new season by drawing 1-1 at Athletic Bilbao despite having only 15 outfield players available, with Bordalas once again criticising the club’s executives, warning that the Azulons could also be relegated if the issue is not addressed. 

‘There are definitely concerns,’ Bordalas said. ‘It will be a long and difficult season. It’s not just that Getafe are short of players at the moment, our two best players are likely to leave before the window closes.’

‘(Dagonam) Djene is a Getafe player and we have no news about that. (Borja) Mayoral is another Getafe player and as a coach I rely on him. We take good care of him to get him back to his best form.’ 

‘We’re know there are a lot of places to fill, the club knows that because the chairman has spoken publicly about it. We need at least four or five players, I think there will be one or two.’
